March 19, 2021 - Case of COVID-19

Dear Parents/Guardians and Staff of Bradley Beach Elementary School,

This letter is to inform you that an individual at the Bradley Beach Elementary School has tested positive for COVID-19. The District is coordinating closely with public health officials and following CDC, state, and local health department guidance in order to ensure the health and safety of our community.

There is nothing you need to do at this time. Due to privacy requirements, we will not be releasing any additional information on the identity of the individual. Any person who was determined by health officials to have been a close contact of this individual has already been personally notified.

Our health and safety protocols include the cleaning and disinfecting of all exposed areas. The school is also remaining vigilant in the precautions we take to prevent the introduction and spread of viruses and other germs and is cleaning frequently touched surfaces daily.

The health and safety of our students and staff is our first priority. If the facts, circumstances, or impact of any case or cases indicate that closing a school for any amount of time is necessary, we would not hesitate to do so.

We understand the level of concern regarding COVID-19. We encourage parents and students to continue following the  Centers for Disease Control & Prevention  promoted safeguards, such as:

  • Staying home when you are sick;

  • Washing hands often with soap for at least 20 seconds;

  • Covering coughs and sneezes and properly disposing of tissues;

  • Limiting close contact with people who are sick and not sharing food, drinks and utensils;

  • Practicing social distancing (staying at least 6 feet apart);

  • Wearing a face covering while in school; and

  • Continuing to monitor your health for symptoms.

As always, we appreciate our community’s support and cooperation. You can assist us by remaining vigilant and sensible in your approach to dealing with this health concern. Should you have any questions about this situation, please feel free to contact the main office during regular school hours.

Sincerely,

Dr. Stephen T. Wisniewski
